It is loaded with a symbolic weight that reinforces stigmas and ancient prejudices, whose effects bring serious damage to social and psychological. The multiprofessional team has a fundamental paper in the promotion of the actions of control of the disease. In this sense this study aims to describe the health team perceptions that operates in the basic health unit of Guama about leprosy, because we understand that experiences of these professionals who deal every day with difficulties, unforeseen and problems to ensure that these control actions be taken, need to be clarified so that they understand how to improve care. Perceptions that are located in symbolic field and manifest subjectively, carry the lines of speeches knowledge, experience and knowledge that need to be heard in order to facilitate formulating more satisfactory public policy in controlling the disease. This study has a qualitative approach, descriptive cross-sectional survey. It was held in Basic unit of Health in Guamá neighborhood with BELÉM city in the state of Pará, with the health care professionals who perform service to users with leprosy. Was a questionnaire to identify the socio-professional profile of these workers, and semi-structured interview, whose data collection technique was through an open in-depth interview. Data analysis occurred through technique content analysis. The results indicate that each member of the multidisciplinary team works within the leprosy according their professional assignment program. Control actions leprosy are performed generally in individual and fragmented perspective, however team members within their infrastructure limitations, lack of doctors meet the unit leprosy patients seek a more satisfactory integration. But there is little room for conducting training, ongoing education and updates. The multidisciplinary team has a key role in ensuring the sucess of actions in leprosy control; It is important to have an integrated education policy permanent so that professionals be exploited to promote these actions more humane and integrated manner.Acesso AbertoHanseníaseAssistência multiprofissionalCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
