Using a qualitative, interpretive, and descriptive approach, the research is based on classroom observations and analysis of the pedagogical practice of the Portuguese teacher. The theoretical framework includes Bakhtin (2011), Marcuschi (2008), Rojo (2009), Pimenta and Lima (2012), and the BNCC guidelines (2018). As part of the internship practice, a creative writing activity was developed, inspired by COP30 and the Amazonian context, connecting reading, textual production, and regional identity. The results reveal challenges in students’ authorial writing and interpretative reading, particularly in the group with lower proficiency, but also demonstrate potentialities When language practices are meaningful and connected to the students’ reality. The study reinforces the importance of the internship as a formative space that articulates theory and practice and highlights the need for pedagogical strategies that promote autonomy and active student participation.
