Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9505This study presents the challenges and possibilities for quality Science teaching in the Vila Bom Jesus community, located in the Verde para Sempre Extractive Reserve (RESEX) in Pará. The research was developed during the "Community Time" stages of a Rural Education degree, based on the Pedagogy of Alternation. The main goal was to analyze how infrastructure and curriculum issues affect student learning. Through a feedback seminar with residents, critical points were discussed, such as the precariousness of river school transport, insufficient school meals, and the lack of a Political-Pedagogical Project (PPP) that respects the flood cycles and local reality. The results show that, although the reserve's biodiversity is a rich natural laboratory, Science teaching still suffers from urban models that ignore traditional knowledge.
