During the 20th century, the site was the official residence of the state governors. In 1995, the then Secretary of Culture and architect Paulo Chaves initiated a restoration and revitalization project, which resulted in the transformation of the space. In this sense, this research seeks to understand the historical and heritage importance of the transformation of the Residence Park. The transformation process between 1995 and 1998 is relevant not only for its historical and architectural value, but above all for revealing the paths and choices that make up the state's heritage policy. During the investigation, it was observed that this transformation represented not only a gesture of preserving memory, but also a symbolic construction of the present. The restoration of elements such as the palace, the gasometer, the pavilion, and other components highlighted the intention to keep alive the narrative of the city's past and reaffirm milestones in its history.Acesso AbertoParque da ResidênciaRequalificaçãoProjeto Novo ParáMonumentoBelémResidence ParkRedevelopmentMonumentCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::HISTORIA::HISTORIA DO BRASIL::HISTORIA REGIONAL DO BRASILA antiga casa do Governador: Parque da Residência, história e patrimônio (1995-1998)Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
