Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/6552Despite being tools frequently used by the academic and non-academic community, libraries at the Federal University of Pará – UFPA face challenges related to factors such as location, accessibility and dissemination of their products and services. The objective of the research was to collect data relating to the libraries of the Library System – SIBI at UFPA. Field research was carried out in 34 of the 37 existing libraries, collecting the main data on their operation and geolocation. This data was systematized in a database in the PgAdmin – PostgreSQL software, and later converted to a geographic information system – GIS by connecting the PostGIS extension with the QGIS program. Most libraries have limited accessibility and only have one institutional website; and around half promote their products and services on social media, in addition to being registered on the Google Maps platform. As a result, the SIBI/UFPA units were re- registered on Google Maps, with more complete information, and a tutorial was created so that employees can enter and update the information.
