Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9731This article aims to analyze the role of the education union as a vehicle for struggle for workers in the sector in Breves, Pará. To this end, a qualitative approach was adopted, utilizing a literature review and field research based on interviews with education professionals affiliated with SINTEPP/Breves. Content analysis revealed that, since the union's establishment in Breves in the 1990s, union mobilizations have led to the securing of rights—most notably the Career and Remuneration Plan (PCCR), achieved through a strike, which stands as one of the union's primary tools of struggle. Conversely, there is currently low member participation in union mobilizations, a situation viewed as a major challenge.
