Regarding the municipality, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, in its last published census (2010), pointed it out as the Brazilian municipality with the worst quality of life, measuring education, income and health indices. In that municipality, 78% of the population lives in rural areas, distributed throughout the forest, many in remote and difficult-to-access regions, conditions that make access to public policies difficult, since most are policies elaborated outside the reality of these subjects and that cannot reach them in their territorial dimensions. In view of this, the research aimed to understand the mishaps that are part of the journey of the young riverside person from Melga to access and remain in Higher Education Institutions. The research is exploratory with a quantitative and qualitative approach that used as instrumental tools for data collection: semi-structured questionnaires, observation and open interviews. The work is organized into three chapters. In them, we contextualize the historical aspects of Education policy in Brazil, in addition to signaling it as a public and social policy. We approach the conceptual question about territory and riverside populations and contextualize the Amazon and the research locus. We tried to synthesize the main information from the field research and relate them to the legal aspects attributed to the Higher Education Policy, leading to some reflections on the questions raised by the interviewees, and finally, we present the relevance of the professional of Social Work in the collective struggle to guarantee the right to education. By approaching this theme from a critical and propositional perspective, it was possible to identify that a minority of this demand manages to reach higher education, for several reasons, the main one being the omission of the State as a provider of the necessary conditions for access to citizenship. In summary, there is little research related to the theme in this section of the Marajoara Amazon. Taking Higher Education as a social right, what was found was that there is no discussion of territoriality in the sense of taking into account the young riverside Marajoara. That said, there is a need to think about forms of social intervention that affect this reality.Acesso AbertoEducaçãoJuventude ribeirinhaEnsino SuperiorEducationRiverside YouthHigher EducationCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAO::PLANEJAMENTO E AVALIACAO EDUCACIONAL::AVALIACAO DE SISTEMAS, INSTITUICOES, PLANOS E PROGRAMAS EDUCACIONAISOs desafios da juventude ribeirinha para o ingresso e permanência nas instituições de ensino superior : uma abordagem no Rio Anapú em Melgaço/Marajó-PATrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
