Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10047In this work, we aim to reflect on the different manifestations of racism in the Marajoara Amazon, having the municipality of Portel/PA as a locus, in order to contribute to the construction of new intervention fronts and theoretical reflections for Social Work. We start from the following concerns: I) What are the forms of perpetuation and manifestations of racism in the Marajoara Amazon, considering the reality of the municipality of Portel/PA? and II) What are the coping paths that can be mobilized by Social Work in the anti-racist struggle? Thus, we have the following specific objectives: I) Understanding the perceptions of Marajoaras about racism in the municipality of Portel/PA; II) Identify and promote reflections on the different types of manifestations of racism in the municipality of Portel/PA; III) Verify and give visibility to cases of racism that occur and occurred in the municipality of Portel/PA; IV) Reflect on the contributions and role of Social Work in actions to combat racism. The methodology used resorted to bibliographical, documental and field research. The field research took place between the years 2020, 2022 and 2023. In the first data collection, in December 2020, from a questionnaire applied spontaneously with 11 (eleven) people who traveled in Praça da Saúde in Portel, the second collection , took place from December 2022 to January 2023, in which we interviewed 6 (six) professionals, 2 (two) from Health, 1 (one) from Social Assistance, 2 (two) from Education, 1 (one) from the Ministry Public. In addition to this, 3 (three) members of the Umbanda religion were interviewed. In this second collection, an interview script was adopted, and with the consent of the participants, the testimonies were recorded in audio. The text is structured as follows: The first chapter deals with the conception of race and its relationship with coloniality, focusing on the historical and socioeconomic aspects of Brazil. The second chapter discusses racism and the social issue in Social Work, based on the categories Coloniality and Capitalism. We extend the debate on racism, observing this phenomenon not only as an expression of the social question, but as part of a process that constitutes and maintains the current economic and ideological structure. In this way, the Capitalist System being within a logic of Coloniality, which in this case proceeds with colonialist actions, making racism a mechanism for maintaining order, which also reinvents itself, presenting itself in multiple manifestations. In the third chapter, we present the results of the field research, in which we initially approach the Marajó Archipelago, highlighting its breadth and diversity, and then locate the municipality of Portel, dealing with its historical, economic and social aspects and its aspects demographics. We identified the various manifestations of structural racism in dimensions such as environmental, institutional and religious racism in the municipality of Portel, in which it becomes a “visible invisible”, which despite not being confronted in its existence, the interviewees, among whom are the professionals who work in public policies in the municipality, observe that to the “naked eye” people of “darker color” are the most affected by different types of aggression and violence. We understand and reinforce the potential contributions of Social Work, as a specialized profession inscribed in the social division of labor, which acts directly with the population through the execution and elaboration of public policies, therefore imprinting in its performance a social direction that can and should be in defense of social rights, thus fulfilling its commitment to the Ethical-Political Project and the 1993 Code of Ethics of the profession, signed in defense of human rights, of the working class and against all types of discrimination and prejudice.Acesso AbertoRacismoServiço socialAmazônia marajoaraRacismSocial servicesMarajoara amazonCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::SERVICO SOCIALTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
