However, this reality is not reflected in positions of power and decision-making within the Brazilian judiciary. This raises the question: “In a country as historically racist as Brazil, is it possible for people of different races to accurately address the demands they have never personally experienced from other racial groups?” This reflection suggests that, to promote justice and social equity, those at the top of the decision-making chain must truly understand, know, and above all care about the needs of those at the base of the system — and there is no way to fully understand that reality without having experienced it. Therefore, this article aims to highlight the predominance of white individuals in leadership roles within the judiciary and to justify why it is essential that these spaces also be occupied by people from different racial backgrounds.
