For this reason, the peoples have a differentiated view of the concepts about the environment in which it is inserted. Therefore, the way individuals relate to the environment is defined through their perception of the environment. For that reason we did the research carried out at the João Costa Municipal market place, as part of the project "Cinema Sessions at the Fair: An Invitation to Environmental Awareness Regarding the Inadequate Disposal of Solid Waste to Fairgrounds and Students of Breves-PA (Island of Marajó), with the objective of the verify the perception of environmental preservation of the shopkeeper that develop activities in the market place. The research exploratory, based on the dialectical method and qualitative approach, use did a structured interview script to data collection. The results showed the difficulty of the marketers in recognizing the community, the workplace, the house as an environment. The concept of place/environment presented by them describes the relationship of men to nature for utilitarian purposes without investing in the preservation of natural resources in sustainable development processes (anthropocentric perception). The environment as well seen as a space of exclusion for man (naturalistic perception), when in fact, it includes natural, social and cultural dimensions. The limited perception of the environment manifests itself in the lack of commitment in the waste management generated in the workplace and in everyday attitudes that affect the environment, such as thinking about reuse waste before disposition in the garbage.
