For this purpose, a reduced model of the system has been developed, which uses low-cost electronic components such as: relays (5V and 12V), 5V motor pumps, sensors (pH, electrical conductivity, solution level, brightness and temperature) and an Arduino module to control the systems. A key point of this work is that, aiming at the cost-benefit issue, low-cost components were used to implement an electrical conductivity sensor, which was designed to measure a specific electrical conductivity range that meets the required parameters of the hydroponic solution used in the cultivation of lettuce. After the development of the sensor and prototype of the system, monitoring tests were carried out in order to define system's performance parameters, and also validate the operation of the prototype and the electrical conductivity sensor. System monitoring is performed in two ways: through the Arduino IDE and also using an LCD display module directly connected to the system.
