Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8554Collection Development (CD) is a fundamental theme in the field of Library and Information Science and has been the subject of various studies, ranging from the classical perspective to contemporary concepts that guide the adaptation of libraries to emerging technologies. These technologies have been transforming libraries and requiring librarians to adapt. A portion of this academic production takes place during undergraduate studies, as undergraduate monographs constitute significant contributions to scientific research. In this context, this study examines the monographic production of the Faculty of Librarianship at UFPA, available in the Digital Library of Monographs from 2011 to 2024, and investigates how the theme of CD has been represented by undergraduate students. This research is descriptive in nature, employing a quantitative and qualitative approach, with monographs as the object of study. A total of 218 titles were retrieved, comprising 206 monographs and 12 articles, of which 8 address the theme of CD. The years 2017 and 2018 recorded the highest number of deposited titles. The identified themes were five: 1) Selection policy; 2) User studies; 3) Conservation; 4) Acquisition; and 5) Collection evaluation. As a conclusion, it was found that CD remains a field yet to be further explored by undergraduate students.
