This study analyzes how the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi uses social media to mediate scientific information to the public. The research is exploratory and descriptive in nature, combining a literature review and documentary research. The museum's social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X, were analyzed to identify digital marketing strategies and scientific information mediation. The documentary analysis mapped the practices and initiatives adopted by the museum over time. The results show that the museum utilizes various social media platforms to disseminate scientific information. YouTube was the first platform adopted, followed by Facebook and Instagram, the latter being the most active platform, especially during the pandemic, with reels and interactive content. The X platform is used less frequently. The content strategy is organic, with no paid promotions, and faces challenges in integrating different sectors for content curation. It is noted that social media has expanded the museum’s reach and engagement. This study reinforces the importance of social media in mediating information and engaging with the public, highlighting the continuous evolution of the museum’s digital strategies to adapt to changes and audience needs.
