The general objective is to investigate the use of audiobooks as a tool for mediating information and reading with illiterate individuals. The specific objectives are: a) Discuss how information mediation is carried out for illiterate individuals; b) Highlight audiobooks as tools for informational inclusion. The research is basic in nature, exploratory in nature, qualitative in approach, and bibliographical in method, aiming to broaden the understanding of the subject and instigate potential research and approaches. The results show that although audiobooks have been considered a reading facilitator for some years, no records of their use with illiterate individuals were found. This demonstrates the need for further exploration and study as a mediation tool, thus reaching more users, whether disabled or not.
