They receive this name because they do not receive investments from the health agencies responsible for the development of new drugs. Although they do not receive the necessary investments from health agencies, these diseases have been the subject of research on treatments that are promising, among these, research on essential oils and their constituents that have potential for use against these diseases, as is the case of Chagas Disease, Leishmaniasis and Dengue. In this scenario, this work sought to review the contributions of the literature on the Verbenaceae family and its actions in the study of neglected diseases, especially in the Amazon, identifying the main chemical components related to these actions to contribute to the targeting of potentially promising oils in the antichagasic efficacy. and antileishmania, as well as preventive action against Dengue viruses. This survey was carried out systematically with exploratory bibliographic research based on the Prisma protocol, analyzing scientific contributions published in the period from 2010 to 2021, available on academic search platforms, namely SciELO, Elsevier, Hindawi, PubMed, ARCA.Fiocruz, Google Academic, Portal of Journals CAPES, Teses.USP, Repositorio.UFPA (RIUFPA). The results showed that the essential oils most suitable for use against Chagas Disease, Leishmaniasis and Dengue are the oils from the species of Lippia spp., Aloysia spp. and Lantana spp., among the chemical constituents of these oils, those with greater efficacy are thymol, carvacrol and citronellol. In view of this, it is necessary to have a delimitation and protocol of the active compounds from the essential oils of verbenaceans that can be used to create new medicines for use alone or in conjunction with existing drugs, as well as new repellents, insecticides and larvicides that are effective, demonstrating no adverse cytotoxic effects.
