Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9999The general objective of this work was to analyze the role of the Guardianship Council in confronting violations of the rights of children and adolescents in Baião/Pará. As for the methodology, we adopted quanti-qualitative research as the study basis. Together with the bibliographical research, we defined as unit of empirical analysis for the procedures of data collection, five (5) Guardianship Councils. Five interviews were conducted using a semi-structured script. The results obtained indicate that, despite all the difficulties encountered in the proper functioning of the Guardianship Council, it has been fundamental in protecting the rights of children and adolescents in Baião, and has worked tirelessly to prevent and confront violations of the rights of this population. The importance of this topic lies in the fact that the violation of the rights of children and adolescents is a serious violation of human rights, and the Guardianship Council is one of the main institutions responsible for ensuring the protection and promotion of these rights.
