Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10068This article analyzes the preservation of the institutional memory of the Movimento República de Emaús based on the "Grande Coleta" posters produced annually by the institution, understood as devices for social mobilization and engagement within this solidarity initiative. The study is grounded on the understanding that these records, beyond their communicative function, constitute support of memory by documenting practices, experiences, and values related to the institution's trajectory, especially those connected to the annual campaigns for collecting objects from the civil society of Belém. The objective of the research is to understand how archival practices contribute to the preservation of the visual and oral memory developed within the movement. This is a basic research study with a qualitative approach, exploratory and descriptive in nature, developed through bibliographic review and a case study conducted within the institution's collection, emphasizing the analysis of posters and the application of a semi-structured interview. The results show that these documents play a relevant role in the construction, preservation, and dissemination of institutional and social memory while also promoting processes of social engagement. It was observed that the adoption of appropriate archival practices contributes to the organization, preservation, and access to these records, thus expanding their informational and social potential.
