One of the difficulties of working with the autistic child has to do with the initial identification process, which is usually time-consuming and also with acceptance by family members. Lately, with the growing number of studies and research, a more precise, inclusive and human approach has become possible. The present work presents reflections from a case study. As the mother of an autistic child, we take as a starting point to seek to understand the child's behavior, inserted in the domestic and educational context.
