Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9879The objective of this work was to carry out the diagnosis of bioeconomy enterprises linked to sociobiodiversity in the municipality of Abaetetuba, Pará, focusing on the identification and characterization of collective and family and/or individual initiatives that produce, collect, extract, manage, process, and market products and/or services associated with sociobiodiversity. The research was developed using a qualitative approach, through bibliographic review, field research, and semi-structured interviews applied to representatives of the identified enterprises. The study identified 13 enterprises connected to the sociobiodiversity bioeconomy, including seven associations (53.8% of the sample), three family or individual enterprises (23.1%), two institutes (15.4%), and one cooperative (7.7%). Entrepreneurs are predominantly between 35 and 60 years old, evidencing maturity and accumulated experience, with significant female participation, as 61.5% of the enterprises are led or coordinated by women. The enterprises operate in the production and commercialization of miriti handicrafts, bio-jewelry, beverages, fruit pulps, jams, vegetable butters, flours, and in offering ecotourism services, highlighting the appreciation of biodiversity, traditional knowledge, and local culture. The results revealed potentialities related to collective organization, job and income generation, appreciation of natural resources, and strengthening of local cultural identities. However, limitations were identified that hinder the expansion of these initiatives, such as insufficient continuous technical assistance, lack of adequate infrastructure for processing and storage, logistical difficulties in distributing production, limited access to credit lines, and challenges related to environmental and sanitary regularization. Regarding enterprises engaged in processing and marketing food products and beverages, the absence of sanitary records and certifications required for certain consumer markets was observed, restricting the expansion of commercialization and value addition to products. It is concluded that the sociobiodiversity bioeconomy in Abaetetuba has significant potential to promote sustainable development, generate jobs and income, and contribute to biodiversity conservation and the appreciation of local populations’ knowledge and ways of life.
