Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7931This study focused on analyzing the positive and negative aspects of public transportation used on the Satélite-UFPA route, along with collecting satisfaction data from the users of this mode of transportation, aiming to propose solutions for improving the quality of urban public transport based on user perspectives. This is one of the bus routes in the city of Belém, operated by two companies: Viação Rio Guamá and Belém Rio Transportes LTDA. Additionally, the study aimed to compare the services provided by both companies to understand which one offers the better service and why. To achieve this, a qualitative research approach was used, employing interviews conducted through the Google Forms platform, based on the works of Santos (2000) and Ferraz and Torres (2004), as well as scientific articles, newspaper reports, websites, dissertations, and books on the subject. The research results revealed that the company Belém Rio Transportes LTDA had the advantage of a larger fleet, while Rio Guamá stood out for the quality of its buses. However, dissatisfaction was noted among the population with Belém Rio Transportes LTDA, particularly regarding the poor condition of its buses and the slow pace of the routes. On the other hand, Rio Guamá's main negative aspects were the limited number of buses in circulation and drivers' failure to adhere to established routes and stop points.
