Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/5788Introduction: According to the National Policy of Integral Health of the Black Population, diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension are among the most common genetic or hereditary diseases of the black population. Objective: To describe the actual quantitative and epidemiological situation of diagnosed cases of Diabetes mellitus and Systemic Arterial Hypertension in the middle Itacuruçá quilombola community, as well as to verify associated factors. Methods: A descriptive-quantitative study was carried out, through the analysis of 83 medical records of patients enrolled in the Hiperdia program, out of a total of 1,320 community residents, from 2014 to 2018. The data analyzed were: sex, age, presence of hypertension and / or diabetes, schooling, occupation, type of dwelling, source of water supply, sanitary toilet drain, garbage destination, alcohol consumption and smoking. Results: Of the total number of patients evaluated, the number of hypertension cases in the community was 5.7%, and diabetes was 1.6%. The majority of the female sex (67%), age group from 61 to 70 years old (30.1%), incomplete elementary schooling level (54.2%), retired (43.4%), did not consume alcoholic beverages , 2%), non-smokers (51.8%), live in the masonry house (59%), use the community water source as a source of water supply (57.8%), have a septic tank closed in their residences (61.4%), deliver their garbage in the selective collection (66.3%). Conclusion: The number of diagnosed cases in the community between the period 2014 to 2018 was low, both for hypertension and diabetes.
