Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9258The main objective of this work is to analyze, from a geographical approach, the infrastructure and equipment present in the city of Cametá to support tourist activity, as well as to serve the local population. Tourism is not limited to an economic fact, it is a process that is expanding more and more, becoming the subject of discussions due to its complex nature, where the geographical focus is of great relevance. At the same time that tourism appropriates existing infrastructures, new forms are produced, created or recreated according to the needs of the activity. Given this set of elements, we established some questions that guide our analysis, namely: what are the conditions in which the infrastructure and equipment necessary to support tourist activity in the city of Cametá are presented? Are there public policies designed or implemented to improve infrastructure and urban equipment? As a research methodology, we used bibliographical and documentary research, as well as semi-structured interviews with representatives of entities, institutions, tourists and the local population.
