Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/5429Civil prison is a modality of coercion used in the execution of food that has constitutional support, however, it has received increasing criticism regarding its effectiveness as well as about its pertinence in a legal system that has human dignity as a guideline, since that, despite the evident vulnerability of the person being fed, there are many situations in which the debtor fails to fulfill his obligations for reasons beyond his control, such as unemployment. Despite the criticism, few efficient alternatives were presented in the face of the Brazilian socioeconomic context, further aggravated by the pandemic. In this way, a reflective analysis of the aforementioned modality was sought, taking into account the pandemic and the Brazilian social context, listing alternatives to its application, relying on studies and analyzes by experts in the area. Thus, using a deductive bibliographic research and data collection, even in the face of great difficulty in obtaining, mainly due to the superficiality and absence of updated numbers.
