Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2197The present study has as its goal to propose an iconographic description of the stained glass windows present in the Basilica of Nazaré church, and to suggest a museological guide that incorporates them, since they are noteworthy in mediations where there is a lack or total absence of knowledge about stained glass. This research paper comes from observing the necessity of preserving this object of study, for during our research some aspects like unfamiliarity with the reference and inadequate care were observed. Throughout the chapters of this study, we present some facts about the origins of the main raw material involved, glass, explaining specific points of the stages of developing the stained glass, and interconnecting periods of Art History with a focus on the Romantic and Gothic styles. The Basilica Sanctuary of Nazaré was chosen because of its collection of 57 stained glass windows and for the services of mediation offered by the Basilica itself.
