The work explores the intersection between personal experiences, family memories, and the Amazonian popular imaginary, using three traditional tales from Pará as guiding stimuli for experimentation and creation. Thus, the general objective of this study is to analyze the creative process of the videodance O Corsal, highlighting how popular narratives, combined with the main methodological concepts adopted, manifest themselves in the final artistic outcome. The specific objectives include contextualizing the popular narratives from Pará that supported the creative process, analyzing choreographic and symbolic elements of the videodance O Corsal, and discussing the sensations generated through the encounter between body, identity, and the Amazonian popular imaginary. The research follows an analytical interpretative approach and is characterized as a case study (Gil, 2002). The methodology is based on the analysis of the creative process and the videodance O Corsal, considering the final audiovisual material and records produced throughout the creation process. The study engages with authors related to Amazonian popular culture and dance creation, seeking to reflect on the meanings and aesthetic choices of the work from the perspective of the performer-creator. The theoretical foundation is mainly based on Mendes’ (2010) reflections on cultural identity, Souza’s (2022) concept of encantaria-corpo, which proposes a poetic immersion into the internal layers of the body, and Lévi-Strauss’ (1989) notion of bricolage, which promotes the creation of new meanings from fragments detached from their original functions. The research affirms dance as a practice of listening and reconnection, emphasizing the results generated by the encounter between Amazonian tales and the body of the performer-creator, uniting reality and the supernatural in the construction of a poetic expression of cultural and identity belonging.
