Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9126The use of pre-installed steel connectors in concrete elements is common in the construction industry for fixing structural and non-structural components or for strengthening purposes. However, when attached to flexible elements, they may be subject to different levels of cracking, which is considered in a simplified manner by international code recommendations. In this sense, this study aims to evaluate the performance of embedded connectors in cracked reinforced concrete elements due to bending. The evaluation was performed through the analysis of the results of 17 experimental tests by Ferreira et al. (2021), Santos (2018) and Silva (2018). The cracking in these elements occurred due to the bending moment generated when force was applied to the connectors and the cracking control was based on the variation of the flexural reinforcement ratio. The performance of the connectors was evaluated based on the crack width of the concrete element (wk), the ratio of the applied moment to the resisting moment at the section where the connector is positioned (MS/MR), and the bending reinforcement ratio (ρ). Furthermore, they were compared with the theoretical predictions of ACI 318 (2019) and EUROCODE 2-4 (2018) codes. Crack width showed the greatest influence among the evaluated parameters.
