Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9010This work reports on the experiences during Internship III - Portuguese Language and Literature in an Inclusive Context, part of the curriculum content of the graduation course in Portuguese at Universidade Federal do Pará (Bragança, Pará, Brazil). This experience helped us as a research field in data collection for this end-of-course paper. The main objective is to verify whether the rights of the deaf (Brazilian law Art. 22, ordinance nº 5.626, of December 22nd 2005) are fulfilled in the school. Furthermore, discuss the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) as the first language (L1) and the learning of Portuguese as a second language (L2) by deaf students. Also, we propose to show a model of bilingual education focused on these students, as in the law nº 14.191/2021 (Brazilian law), and reflect on the impacts of absence without this model of learning focused on these students. The theoretical background uses Quadros (2006), Santos & Pereira (2019), Mantoan (2003), Skliar (2013), and Mota (2020), who made contributions to our data analyses on the importance of articulation between L1 and L2 in deaf education.
