The problem lies in the interference of deficiencies in inventory management in the results of maintenance performed by clinical engineering. The overall objective is to present an inventory management model observing the integration between clinical engineering maintenance processes and inventory control. A management model is proposed and applied to the maintenance of support equipment in a healthcare facility. The results show that adopting an inventory management model, aligned with maintenance practices and supported by computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), significantly reduces costs, improves the predictability of parts demand, and reduces downtime of essential equipment.
