Inspired by Hannah Arendt's seminal work, this research delves into the depths of seemingly ordinary contexts to explore how acts of violence and cruelty are normalized. With a critical and interpretative approach, we meticulously examine how the director employs a range of narrative, visual, and symbolic elements to reveal the intricate moral and ethical layers underlying the characters' actions. Additionally, the study investigates how the cinematic narrative actively challenges the viewer, inviting them to confront the often ambiguous and shocking nature of human behavior, thus challenging the traditional conception of good and evil. Through the meticulous methodology of bibliographic research and documentary investigation, this analysis is grounded in a variety of relevant sources that enrich the understanding of the film and its context. From academic studies to specialized critiques, each source contributes to a broader and deeper view of how cinema can explore and problematize fundamental concepts of the human condition. The findings of this research not only reveal the narrative and visual richness of "Incendies," but also shed light on the transformative power of cinema as a form of art and expression. By challenging conventions and offering a penetrating insight into moral complexity, the film not only entertains but also prompts critical reflection on contemporary society and its fundamental values. Thus, this analysis significantly contributes to a deeper understanding not only of the film in question but also of the essential role that cinema plays in exploring the human condition and seeking meaning in an increasingly complex world.Acesso AbertoCinema - História e críticaViolência na arteArendt, Hannah (1906-1975)Arte e sociedadeMotion pictures - History and criticismViolence in artSociety and artCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::ARTES::CINEMAUma análise sobre a banalidade do mal na construção narrativa do filme IncêndiosTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
