Objective: To evaluate the association of dietary intake with anthropometric and metabolic parameters in adult patients treated at the nutrition clinic of a university hospital. Methods: Cross-sectional, observational, quantitative and descriptive study based on data collection from the medical records of adult patients, of both sexes, with excess weight, and any clinical diagnosis, performed in the year 2021. Results: It was observed that women, sedentary and with excess body mass prevailed in the research, mostly obese, arterial hypertension (47.1%) and hepatic steatosis (35.7%) were the most frequent underlying diseases, men consumed more calories compared to women, predominant consumption of a high-protein, normoglycemic and normolipidic diet, prevalence of low fiber consumption (75%), most had hyperglycemia (70.8%) and pre-diabetes (69.2), considering Hb1Ac ( 85.2%) had hyperglycemia, the inadequacy of the lipid profile was significantly higher with no difference between men and women, there was an association between hypertriglyceridemia and higher levels of non-HDL-cholesterol, active men consumed more calories and fiber compared to sedentary men, no there was a correlation with statistical significance between the quantitative variables analyzed.
