Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8025The present work has as its problematic the diffusion and universalization of the Internet service, with a regional analysis of the diffusion of telephony and mobile broadband in the State of Pará, located in the Northern Region of Brazil, including mobile coverage, type of technology and distribution of Stations Base Radio – ERBs. We used municipalities and Intermediate Geographic Regions – RGINT as spatial units of analysis, and as data sources the Anatel Data Panel and Teleco's “ERBs Map”. A quantitative analysis was carried out. In the methodological procedures, we carried out research and bibliographical review on the issue, collected secondary data and organized it to generate tables and graphs in the Microsoft Excel program, and thematic and analytical maps using the QGIS software. We seek to identify digital gaps and regions with the best area coverage for 3G, 4G, 5G technologies by large operators in Brazil and the State of Pará (Claro, Tim and Vivo). The diffusion and universalization of the Internet service are linked to the popularization of Information and Communication Technologies – ICTs, a recenzt stage of globalization.
