In Brazil, congenital anomalies have a rate of 3.06 deaths/1000 live births and represent the second cause of infant mortality, behind only prematurity. Therefore, its early diagnosis is vital in order to reduce the high mortality rate. Objective: To identify the geographic distribution and epidemiological profile of cases of Congenital Heart Disease in children under 1 year of age in the mesoregions of the state of Pará, Brazil, from January 2017 to December 2021. Methodology: This is a descriptive study, cross-sectional with a quantitative approach carried out through the survey of secondary data on CC cases in children under 1 year old in the mesoregions of the state of Pará, from 2017 to 2021. The Mortality Information System (SIM) and Births databases were used Live (SINASC) available at the SUS Department of Health (DATASUS). Results: the research found a total of 736 cases, 647 cases of infant deaths and 89 cases of live births. Among live births, it was observed that 5.6% of cases belonged to the Lower Amazonas mesoregion, 6.7% to Marajó, 42% to Metropolitana de Belém, 13.4% to the Northeast of Pará, 23.6% to the Southeast Pará and 7.8% in the Southwest of Pará. Among the infant deaths, it was observed that 8.4% lived in the Baixo Amazonas mesoregion, 8.9% in Marajó, 30.4% in the Metropolitan mesoregion of Belém, 21.6% in the Northeast of Pará, 23.3% in Southeast Pará and 7.2% in Southwest Pará. Conclusion: this work enabled a first description of the epidemiological situation of cases of children under 1 year of age with congenital heart disease in the state of Pará and their distribution across the six mesoregions.
