This guarantees the final product excellence, avoid waste and economic losses. In this sense, in the context of maintenance and operation of a company's physical assets, the machines and equipment reliability must be guaranteed in order to achieve the process quality. Therefore, this monograph proposes activities based on the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology for a Bridge-type bucket wheel reclaimer machine, which operates in a large multinational mining company. The history of production and failures of the asset is surveyed over a period of 10 months, in which one perceives the low reliability of the machine in fulfilling its main functions, as the production targets budgeted for the period were not met, and also because there were several unscheduled stop events for corrective maintenance. Therefore, with the involvement of professionals from different sectors (engineering, operation, maintenance and mechanical inspection), a detailed failure analysis is carried out with the FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) tool.
