Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9421This work seeks to analyze how gardening activities at school can help in learning Biology in a more meaningful way, in addition to encouraging environmental education in the school environment. The investigation is a field study with a qualitative approach, carried out at the Profª. Argentina Pereira State High School, in the second year of high school. The methods used were the implementation of a school gardening project and the application of semistructured interviews to the students who participated in the project, aiming to understand their perceptions about the practical experience. The results showed that the gardening activities contributed to the understanding of biological themes, such as soil, plants, ecosystems and species adaptation, and also increased the engagement, well-being and environmental awareness of the students. An increase in the value given to the school environment and an improvement in collaboration among team members were also observed.
