Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3347The purpose of this Course Conclusion Paper is to understand the aspects of classification of records in the General Protocol of the Federal University of Pará - UFPA and which are later collected in the sector archives of the Pro-Rectory of Administration - PROAD and Pro-Rectory Development and Management of Staff - PROGEP of UFPA, and possible influences on record management within the scope of the sectoral archives of these units. As a specific objective, to present reflections with the intention of improving record management, based on problems found in relation to the classification attributed to the records coming from these pro-rectors. The methodology is exploratory and descriptive, bibliographical and documentary, and will have as a case study the analysis of records classification and the influence on record management in PROAD and PROGEP of UFPA. For the data collection, a survey was applied to archivists and science archival iterns who work in the aforementioned pro-rectors. It has been found that improper classification results in the inadequate archiving of documents at an intermediate stage and then an ineffective evaluation of documentary custody, possibly compromising the organization of the collection due to the disorderly accumulation of documents and the difficulties in locating the information.
