Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8721It makes an analysis of the evolution of theoretical approaches on deforestation in the Amazon, through a comparative mapping of the theses available in the institutional repositories of the Federal University of Pará and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon, between the years 2020 and 2024. The importance of this research lies in the need to understand how different academic institutions have addressed critical environmental issues, allowing the identification of relevant theoretical trends and differences in the Amazon context. The overall objective was to identify and analyze the theses on Amazon deforestation in the repository of the two mentioned universities, establishing comparisons on the evolution of these approaches. Specifically, it sought to determine the quantity and temporal distribution of the theses and highlight the most active supervisors. To achieve these objectives, a quantitative research was conducted in the institutional repositories of the studied universities, using keywords related to the topic. The data obtained were organized in spreadsheets to facilitate the comparison between institutions. The results indicated a significant increase in theses during the analyzed period, with notable differences between the universities studied. The Federal University of Pará had the highest number of theses on the subject, with social, political, and institutional subthemes, while the Federal Rural University of the Amazon emphasized issues directly related to sustainable production and environmental recovery.
