The objective is to describe and compare the difficulties that affect the intellectual production of the students of the Faculties of Library Science and Pedagogy of the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), contributing to a better quality of academic and scientific works. In this way, it will be enriching the range of information that the university must produce, supporting its three pillars: teaching, research and extension. For this, a case study was carried out, by a qualitative and quantitative approach. In addition to bibliographic research related to academic work; writing of texts; normalization of documents, through the precepts established by the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT); and plagiarism in authorial production.
