Acesso em:https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9660The objective is to develop a proposal for the revitalization of the Cidade de Emaús site, headquarters of the Emmaus Movement, in Belém do Pará, based on the role of architecture in the Amazonian context with strong references in the design thought of Milton Monte, an architect who stands out for the appreciation of the place, dialogue between the erudite and non-erudite, taking advantage of the project research as a basis for the design practice, overcoming a simple reproduction of external models until the recognition of wealth local cultural culture. The architectural proposal was contextualized from the Contemporary Quaternal that structures the design process in four fundamental conditions: place, program, construction and formal structure. This approach made it possible to organize the proposal in coherent stages, which valued both the role of the community in the production of the space and the current demands of use. The resulting project is configured as a multi-use space, open to the surrounding community, promotes social integration and reinforces the historical value of the struggles of the EMAUS Movement in the city of Belém (PA).
