It is an activity that intensified from the mid-20th century onwards, encompassing various social classes around the world. This diffusion, coupled with globalization, has brought about a series of social, cultural, and economic implications. Therefore, tourism has become the subject of study in various fields of knowledge, particularly in Geography, which analyzes the social dynamics and spatial relationships encompassed by this phenomenon. This research seeks to understand the impacts of tourism on Castelo Beach in São João de Pirabas, Pará, considering the creation of the Viriandeua Extractive Reserve. A bibliographical survey and fieldwork were conducted to this end. The results indicate that tourism brings significant changes to Castelo Beach, which initially had an economy linked to fishing and extractivism. The region has become a tourist destination with numerous implications for residents, their experiences, and the landscape itself.
