In addition, they are commonly used for ornamental purposes, are also exploited for the consumption of their parts and inputs in food, in the manufacture of objects and for other purposes. The content about Pteridophytes, present in textbooks (LD's), as well as the other contents of botany are often taught through memorization for presenting their teaching based on scientific nomenclatures, which are not part of the students' daily life. This content is presented to 7th graders within a chapter on Vegetable Kingdom generally found at the end of LD. This work aimed to analyze the Pteridophytes content present in four textbooks distributed by Moderna publisher in elementary schools in the municipality of Breves-Pará, taking into account the theoretical content and visual resource as criteria of analysis and if there were updates and adaptations of the content. during the analyzed books (whose publications occurred from 2008 to 2019). This study was developed using qualitative research. The analyzed books were acquired at a school where the author of this study performed her supervised internships. The books analyzed presented minimal adaptations in content, some conceptual misconceptions remain in all books, and the authors do not use the new classification for these vegetables. The way the content is presented in the textbooks analyzed is insufficient for the students to understand the Pteridophytes group in its entirety (morphology and physiology, interaction and importance of these plants for the environment).
