For this, we used data hourly and daily rainfall, and magnitude of the wind for the period 1999 to 2008, applied statistical techniques, such as arithmetic and wavelet transforms in order to identify the different time-scale variations associated with performance of the ITCZ. The spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall in Belem, Jakarta and Nairobi varies considerably, especially during the early months of January to May period of increased activity of the ITCZ in the southern hemisphere. The atmospheric changes observed may be related to the influence of the mechanisms of ocean-atmosphere El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and intraseasonal on the study areas. In this sense, it was observed that during La Niña, Bethlehem and Jakarta precipitation shows more pronounced, unlike Nairobi that has diminished the rain. While, during episodes of El Niño perceives the decline in rainfall. The influence of oceanatmospheric phenomena, scale interannual and intraseasonal distribution of rainfall in these regions is evident during the study period, and Nairobi, in spite of being located at latitude similar to Bethlehem, has no annual cycle. However, the fluctuations in annual and interannual scales seem to determine the local precipitation. With respect to the oscillations of multiple scales of precipitation, Belem and Jakarta have similar scales of the mechanisms that modulate the local rainfall, including the annual cycle marked during the entire period. There is agreement with previous studies, regarding the presence of the intraseasonal oscillation (Madden and Julian) years with La Nina and the absence of it on El Nino years.
