They also represent important educational spaces grounded in playfulness. This study aims to assess the contributions of using the toy libraries to the processes of beginning literacy and literacy in children. It is a qualitative research with technical procedures involving literature review and systematic literature review, of the meta-synthesis type. The study is based on the Freirean perspective of reading the world prior to reading the word, and draws on the contributions of Emilia Ferreiro, Ana Teberosky, Magda Soares, Nylse Cunha, and Cipriano Luckesi to form discussions that associate the toy libraries, in its playfulness aspect, with beginning literacy and literacy processes.
