Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8070Home automation and the Internet of Things (IoT) have become fundamental technologies for enhancing security, through monitoring systems, increasing comfort with smart assistants, and reducing energy consumption with automated sensors. However, most current solutions rely on Wi-Fi, which has limitations in range and power consumption. In this context, this study proposes the use of LoRa (Long Range) as an alternative for long-distance wireless communication in condominium and rural property automation systems. A prototype was developed using the ESP32 LoRa V3 microcontroller, integrated with Home Assistant and the MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) communication protocol, enabling remote monitoring and control of electrical devices and electronic locks. The implementation was validated through practical tests that assessed LoRa's communication range in different scenarios, including urban and rural areas. The results demonstrated that LoRa enables efficient long-range control, overcoming the limitations of Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies. Furthermore, its ability to operate independently of internet infrastructure makes it a viable solution for remote locations.
