Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/5289This work discusses the linguistic variation in the textbooks of the 6th and 9th year of elementary school. The aim is to discuss how linguistic variation is treated in two textbooks. The theoretical basis is supported by Coelho et al (2010), Bagno (2007), Zilles e Faraco (2015), among others who investigate this theme. Methodologically, it corresponds to a documentary research, having as corpus two textbooks, teacher’s manuals, from the 6th and 9th year of higher elementary education, which are part of the collection "Se Liga na Língua: Leitura, Produção de Texto e Linguagem", from the publisher Moderna, from the year 2018. The results reveal that the analyzed books make succinct approaches to variation. The types of variation that are approached in the analyzed books are social, regional, diamésic variation and foreignism, from the approach of some textual genres such as charge, recipe etc. In addition, there is also a space reserved for the discussion of linguistic prejudice.
