This study about sedimentaryp rovenanceo f Tucurui Group is based on petrography,h e minerals analyses and Sm-Nd dating which are helpful to elucidan t)H possibility that sou! areas of this unit can be related to Amazonian Craton or Araguaia Beh. The petrographic study was performed basically on subartosK= contained quart, plagiocla microc[ine, detrita] muscovite, epidote, carbonate, ch]oHte. Mi]imetrica] mineral-heavies ]ev represented by detrital homblende associated with minerals opaque are observed. The presence plagioclase and detrital hornblend suggests that the source-area was not exposed and aHected intense chemical weathering, suggesting the rocks that originated the sediments from Formal Morrote are predominantly of igneous or metamolphic nature due the presence of homblen epidote, tourmaline, diopside and zircon. The Sm-Nd model age 6om two sandstoness amplesw ith 859 Ma and 1142 Ma ages and value of qd 600 Ma of +3,49 e -0,08 suggesta n importantM id- Na)proterozoicj uven contribution for rock sedimentation, discarding Amazonian Crayon(Archean) as sauce-area. The model ages are in part similar that attainedt o Araguaia Belt rocks.
