Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3624The theme: THE CONTO: A look at the literary reading in the EEFM School Benvinda de Araújo Pontes, was chosen from the restlessness and observations about the importance of the practice of literary reading, in the 9th year of elementary school in said institution, during the shift of the afternoon where I could realize that reading literature is little valued. From this fact it is proposed this work, which aims to analyze how the teachers of the 9th year of primary education work the literary reading in their classes, seeking to contribute in the reading instruction of the students. This study is based on a bibliographical and field research followed a qualitative approach that used as a research instrument of interviews that followed the semistructured model applied to the class teacher and 10 students of the class investigated, as well as the techniques of interpretation of the where it was used as an instrument of content and document analysis. The theoretical reference of the work is composed by Freire (1981), Koch and Travaglia (2009), Koch and Elias (2011), Lajolo (1993), among other authors. The results of the research show that the guidelines of pedagogical practice aimed at literary reading in elementary education are still few valued and deepened in educational environments.
