Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8878This final paper stems from the experience gained within the Research Line Work, Childhoods, and Ethnic-Racial Relations, particularly through educational initiatives developed at the Centro de Referência da Assistência Social (CRAS, Social Assistance Reference Center) using as a guide of the Pedagogy Program Curriculum of the Faculty of Education. The study addresses Pedagogy in non-school environments, focusing on the training and professional practice required for pedagogues working in CRAS. The context analyzed is CRAS Sapucaia. The theoretical basis is grounded in the field of Pedagogy as a science of Education, which aims at social transformation, grounded in planning, and responsible for developing socio-educational projects. The main objective is to analyze the role of the pedagogue at CRAS Sapucaia and to examine the Pedagogy Program Curriculum of FACED/UFPA/CBRAG, particularly the courses offered in intensive programs, in order to evaluate whether two disciplines during initial training are sufficient to prepare this professional for work in non-school pedagogical settings. The research adopts a qualitative approach, emphasizing the meanings attributed to pedagogical actions carried out by Pedagogy graduates. The findings show that the pedagogue’s role at CRAS strengthens family bonds and supports the inclusion of children’s families in the Cadastro Único (Single Registry for Social Programs). Pedagogical practices developed at CRAS also demonstrate the relevance of addressing racism through activities such as the drawing panel “What is the color of the skin?”, playful interactions, and the screening of short documentaries on racism through cineclub sessions. The study concludes that the pedagogue holds broad and specific competencies to work in the field of Pedagogy, both in school and non-school contexts. This professional must ground their practice in the principles of the science of Education, with a focus on formative processes.
