Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10033This study investigates the activities of the Nossa Biblioteca Cultural Space – ECNB, located in the Guamá neighborhood of Belém, Pará, in light of the reality of the low-income communities it serves and its results in the process of social inclusion. The study adopts a Social Librarianship perspective and aims to analyze how the ECNB contributes to the social inclusion of the population of the Guamá neighborhood, one of the most populous and peripheral areas of Belém. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with a case study design, and uses questionnaires and semi-structured interviews applied to 14 participants, including users and staff of the space, as data collection instruments. Data analysis was performed using Discourse Analysis. The results reveal that the ECNB is perceived by participants as a multifunctional space that goes beyond access to books: it acts as a center for the articulation of social struggles and the defense of human rights, promotes the inclusion of dissident identities—such as members of the Ballroom community—strengthens community ties, and contributes to the education of children and young people in vulnerable situations.
