Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7853This work focuses on the relationship between diabetes and hospitalizations in Pará, Brazil. The research aims to analyze the clinical profile of hospitalizations for diabetes in Pará, from January 2019 to January 2024. This is a retrospective, observational, quantitative study, with a cross-sectional approach. This research was carried out with a sample using data collected from the hospitalization regulation system in the state of Pará regarding hospitalizations for Diabetes Mellitus, a Primary Care Sensitive Condition (PCSC). They were analyzed by studying measures of central tendency, as well as measures of variability. Furthermore, the relationship between variables was analyzed using the Spearman test. The results demonstrated that a greater number of hospitalizations occurred in Metropolitan I and III regions. There was an increase in hospitalizations in the period studied (2019-2024). There was a greater number of hospitalizations from the age of 40, with a peak between 60 and 69. There was an almost equal distribution of hospitalizations between males and females. There was a projected increase in total hospitalization costs for patients of both sexes. It was observed that the majority of hospitalizations occurred urgently. A reduction in deaths from hospitalizations due to Diabetes Mellitus is projected. There was a direct relationship between the frequency of hospitalizations and the probability of death by age group (r=0.909;p<0.000001). The data resulting from the research contributes to the understanding of diabetes-related hospitalizations in the region, providing valuable information for healthcare planning and policy development.Acesso AbertoDiabetes mellitusICSAPInternaçãoComplicaçõesParáDiabetes mellitusHPCSCHospitalizationComplicationsCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::MEDICINAInternações por Condições Sensíveis à Atenção Primária: Diabetes Mellitus no estado do ParáTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
