Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7678It is assumed that the first cases actually occurred in Egyptian mummies, more than 5000 years ago. C., tuberculosis is a historical disease, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which mainly causes symptoms such as fever, night sweats and weight loss and which today is still a major challenge and one of the main infectious diseases. In view of this, the present work, whose title is “Analysis of tuberculosis cases in a state in the brasilian Amazon between 2017 and 2021” aims to evaluate the clinical epidemiological profile of this disease in the mesoregions, since it is one of the main comorbidities related to poverty, with high incidences in Brazil and Pará, causing major impacts on the quality of life of those affected and on the health service. Therefore, this is a descriptive epidemiological study of a cross-sectional nature with a quantitative approach that was carried out through the collection of secondary data regarding tuberculosis cases from the Notifiable Diseases Information System and the Fundação Amazônia de Amparo a Estudos e Pesquisas. The collected data were tabulated using the MS Office Excel ® spreadsheet program and analyzed using the BIOESTAT software, version 5.3. From the Notifiable Diseases Information System, collected in July 25, 2023, in the period from 2017 to 2021, a total of 25,053 confirmed cases of tuberculosis were reported throughout the state of Pará, with a different distribution of cases by mesoregion. The two mesoregions that presented the highest number of confirmed cases were the Metropolitan mesoregion of Belém and Northeast Pará, while the lowest numbers were recorded in Southwest Pará and Marajó. The highest incidences are in the Metropolitan Belém and Northeast Pará mesoregions. The mesoregion with the highest percentage of lethality from tuberculosis infection is Southwest Pará. During the period analyzed, the Metropolitan Mesoregion of Belém presented a greater number of notifications related to the fact that the region has the highest economic concentration and has a larger population cluster and demonstrated a decreasing notification trend between 2019 and 2020, which coincides with the period of covid-19 pandemic, which may be the result of underreporting of cases. It was observed that Southwest Pará had the highest mortality rate and Metropolitan Belém had the lowest mortality rate, which may be related to the coverage of health services. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic intensified the challenges in combating Tuberculosis in Pará and may have led to underreporting of cases.Acesso AbertoTuberculoseAmazôniaEpidemiologiaTuberculosisAmazonEpidemiologyCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::MEDICINA::CLINICA MEDICA::DOENCAS INFECCIOSAS E PARASITARIASAnálise de casos de Tuberculose em um estado da Amazônia Brasileira entre 2017 a 2021Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
